Ontario businesses and institutions can benefit from the financial incentives being offered by the Ontario Power Authority through your local electric utility and covered by the SaveONenergy Programs, in addition to the actual electricity savings and system improvements that will improve the efficiency of  operations and processes.

Highlights of the Retrofit Program:

1. To avail for the financial incentives, the retrofit project must be pre-approved by your local electric utility.

2. Examples of Eligible Program Measures:

  - Lighting retrofits

  - Lighting controls

  - HVAC redesigns

  - Chiller replacement

  - Variable Speed Drives

  - Improvement of thermal performance of a building envelope through measures such as increase insulation, installation of high performance windows and frames, low emissive window glazing or low emissive roof barriers.

  - Implementation of new operating procedures, including the purchase and installation of equipment necessary either to obtain or to increase the effectiveness of an energy management system or building automation system.

 3. If LED lights will be use for a lighting retrofit, it need to be an Energy Star listed product and/or approved and listed by the Design Lights Consortium ( DLC ).

 4. Upon project completion, your contractor or supplier will submit the required documentations including invoices, and your local electric utility will verify the installation and approves the project savings and the resulting incentive payment, then remits to your organization the total appropriate incentive amount.

 5. The program is eligible for Commercial, Industrial, Agricultural, and Government/Institutional facilities ( Municipal/Public sector, Colleges/Universities, Hospitals/Long term, Schools ).
